Accessibility Frequently Asked Questions

  • Physical Accessibility

All event venues are fully wheelchair accessible, including features such as no-step entrances or ramp access, elevators, wheelchair-designated spaces, companion seating, easy-access theater seating, and accessible restrooms. This ensures that individuals with mobility impairments can navigate the venues comfortably.

    Subtitles and Captions

Non-English-language films are subtitled in English to ensure accessibility for all attendees. Virtually screened English-language films include Closed Captions when available, and select in-person screenings of English-language films will have Open Captions. This ensures accessibility for attendees who are deaf or hard of hearing.

ASL Interpreters and Assisted Listening Devices

ASL interpreters are available upon request for filmmaker Q&As and panels, providing accessibility for attendees who are deaf or hard of hearing and use sign language. Assisted Listening devices are also available when compatible, ensuring clear audio for attendees with hearing impairments.

  • Open captions are always in view and cannot be turned off, whereas closed captions can be turned on and off by the viewer.

  • Assistive listening devices are personal technologies designed to enhance hearing ability for individuals in various situations where they may struggle to distinguish speech, particularly in noisy environments.
