A note on what's to come with DCW and our 20th Anniversary Season!

I hope your summer is finishing up nicely. I thought I might check in with you as we head into the Fall, to give a quick heads up on our DCW plans.

We have curated a touring program of our Award Winning films from the January 2021 festival held at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica CA which we are touring to the Fifth Frame Festival in Manila, Philippines, and the Dance On Screen and Seoul International Dance Festival in Tank in Korea, and other spaces around the world!

We are also creating a curated program of dance films from Central and South America, which will screen at ARTS POWER at UC San Diego, in collaboration with the MOVIMIENTO EN MOVIMIENTO Festival in Mexico City on October 28, 2021.

We are now in production for our Mentorship/Funding Program for films made by underrepresented screen dance artists, with a focus on BIPOC artists, which will premiere in January 2022.

And of course, we will be selecting our 2022 Festival films from our international Call for Submissions in November, to premiere at our January 6-15, 2022 event to celebrate our 20th Anniversary Season!

Looking further ahead, in January 2023 we will create a program focussed on live music accompaniment and dance films.

In 2020, DCW also created a robust educational program for performing artists now transitioning from stage to screen, featuring an international group of leading experts in the field, which we are happily sharing through zoom workshops both nationally and internationally.
